How to make it

  • Coat each piece of leftover crust with some butter/cooking spray/earth balance/etc.
  • Dip into Cinnamon and sugar
  • put onto pie pan and bake, careful not to burn (a lower temp is better, adjust the time accordingly)
  • When crispy and to desired color, remove from oven
  • Watch them disappear as you finish prepping the rest of your holiday dinner!
  • If you pre-cut before baking and have then in triangles or so, they puff up. Quite yummy!

My Mom and Grandmother used to do something like this. We just called it "crust". Thanks for the memories!

    This is a great idea!
I'll have to make them for my grandson...just as a treat every now and then, of coarse! (I say that because he's only 1 !!)
My family would love these, so I'll have to give them a try.
    Thanks for sharing this!

This was so amazing to me as a kid... I always thought there was magic involved until I became a baker LOL!

Yeah, it's definitely more memorable than the pies, as it makes a child feel like "I'm sneaking a sweet crunch of this yummy yummy stuff...buahahahaha..." lol...yes, very tasty and sinful indeed ^_^ sin=memories (ala cool whip as a kid, I used to climb the freezer to get to it and steal one index finger scoop...haha)

OHHHHH this brings back such wonderful memories. My mom used to do this every time she made pies and she made pies often. I loved her pies but I love this even more I believe. My girls love it too as I passed along the tradition.
