Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut fryer into seving pieces and season with creoke seasings or salt and Pepper set aside
  • In a heavy pot make a roux using oil and flour stirring till brown
  • add all seaonings except mushrooms
  • Add chicken and stir well turning chicken till browned
  • Cook for about 20 minutes
  • Add water,mushrooms and green onion tops
  • Cover and let simmer for approx one hour
  • season to taste
  • This may be served with any vegtable of choce

    I am a bit beter but geesh punemonia and an auto ACCIDENT is a bit much

    Preparing this with fried chicken is almost too much, my mouth is watering. I love all the fresh veges. I make a chicken stew that is a bit similar. I thought I read that you might be feelin poorly. Please feel better dear and keep cookin!

    I grew up eating "smothered" everything, "smothered" liver, "smothered" chicken, potatoes "smothered" in gravy. "smothered" pork chops! Smothered is just so good!....Especially smothered chicken! Thanks for the post!
