This is a southern chess pie for chocolate lovers! It is very easy to make. Fill a flaky pie crust with mixed ingredients and bake for 45 min. The outcome is heavenly. Top with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
  • 1-3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 small can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 pie crust (I make mine from scratch, can use bought crust)

Directions
  1. Place first 4 ingredients in a large bowl
  2. Whisk to combine
  3. Add 4 eggs, whisk only until all is combined
  4. Add 1 small can evaporated milk and vanilla
  5. Whisk, only until combined
  6. Add 1 cup chopped pecans
  7. Stir
  8. Pour into unbaked pie shell
  9. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes
  10. Before serving, top each piece of pie with vanilla ice cream
  11. VERY GOOD
