Santa Fe Spoon Bread

- 1-17 ounce can cream-style corn shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 1/3 cup melted shortening (I use Crisco) shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups white corn meal shopping list
- 2 eggs slightly beaten shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 4-ounce can chopped green chiles shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups grated monterey jack cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients, except cheese and chiles
- Mix thoroughly
- Pour 1/2 batter into greased a 9-inch square pan
- Sprinkle half the cheese and half the chiles onto the batter
- Add remaining batter and top with remaining chiles and cheese.
- Bake for 45 minutes, until firm around the edges and slightly soft in the center
- Spoon from pan onto plates

this sounds really good....I had something simular at Disneys Crystal Palace rest. but it had bacon in it and it was soooo yummy...oh and some onions too....Thanks
