LOL--at first I thought the same thing about the ramekin....then I realized I have a set of 3 different sizes....I think I have used them for everything except cooking!

A ramekin is an individual-sized, oven-proof, round dish that can withstand the heat when used in cooking -- often used for creme brulee and individual mousse moulds, and usually made with Pyrex glass or ceramic...(hope this helps!). You can use any small, shallow, heat-proof dish, just make sure that it can withstand the weight of the corn, and the intense heat that butter will give it, without breaking.
