Divine Caramel Sauce

- 1-1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/2 water shopping list
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 cup whipping cream shopping list
How to make it
- Stir sugar and 1/2 cup water in heavy saucepan over medium low heat until sugar dissolves
- Increase heat
- Boil without stirring until syrup turns deep amber
- Occasionally brush down sides of pan with pastry brush dipped in water , and swirling pan around, for about 12 minutes
- Remove from heat
- Whisk in butter
- Gradually add cream (mixture with bubble vigorously)
- Stir over low heat until smooth
- Cool to lukewarm before serving
- NOTE: Can be made 2 days ahead. Cover; chill. Then rewarm over low heat, sitrring occasionally
