If the frost hits the garden early and you are at a loss for what to do with all your green tomatos, you will never go wrong with this! My mother and I still have to try hard to allow some tomatos to ripen before we use them all for this dish!

Thanks for posting. We loved fried tomatoes! Even if they are red! lol. We can eat this day and night. To complete a meal we serve with fresh corn on the cob loaded in butter! What better meal than that?

Goood stuff. Saturday I was in vicksburg and ate at a restaurant, Rusty's, on the Mississippi river. They had fried green tomatoes with crabmeat and hollandaise. I have a recipe posted with shrimp cream sauce. Toppings are gaining in popularity. But naked or topped, they're good.
