Great Great Grammas Empire Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 c butter

1/2 c brown sugar

1/2 c white sugar

1 tsp baking soda

2 tsp cream of tartar

1 egg

3 c all-purpose flour

Directions

Cream together butter and sugars.

Add egg and blend.

Combine flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda then stir into sugar mixture.

For into a shaggy dough ball and turn out onto counter and knead for about 5 minutes or until dough comes together.

Roll and cut desired shapes then bake in a 350 oven for 10 minutes or untilo golden brown.

Cool on racks.

Great Great Gramma's instructions when she wrote out this recipe said simply: "Mix it all together and knead it if you have time." :)
