How to make it

  • Slice loaf in half lengthwise. Scoop out the loaf
  • Generously butter the inside of the loaf to prevent it from betting soggy. Don't miss any spots
  • Combine th ecottage cheese, onions, and some of the scopped bread and mayonnaise if desired
  • Stuff and refill the bread, salt and papper to taste
  • Sprinkle on the crumbled bacon, tomatoes, cucumbers and parsley
  • Put the top of th eloaf on, and refrigerate until ready

    I can see this as a yummy picnic loaf and great for the ball games too. good idea on the flavored butter.

    Good idea! I don't have to even try it to know I will love it! It's so simple and I think I would use one of my butters or spreads instead of plain butter, to add a bit more flavor. The Italian spread or Rosemary buttter might be good!
    I can see this being popular as one of our game day snacks.
