How to make it

  • Cook the pie shell. Set aside and cool.
  • Combine dry ingredients in a pot. Stir in milk and cook mixture over medium to high heat until mixture thickens.
  • Put a little of the hot mixture in with the egg yolks and beat lightly.
  • Add yolks to hot mixture in the pot. Do not let mixture boil. Stir constantly as mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat, add vanilla and butter. Stir until well mixed. Cool.
  • Pour chocolate mixture into cooked pie shell and chill.
  • Whip the whipping cream with 3 tbs of sugar and top the pie with it before serving. Makes one pie
