High Country BBQ Beans

I got this recipe from " Marlboro Cook Like A Man" cookbook that I have. Its easy and real tasty, and great to take camping or tailgating. You can fix it in a slow cooker also.
Ingredients
- 1 (15oz) can pork and beans shopping list
- 1 (15oz) can pink beans, rinsed, drained shopping list
- 1 (15oz) can kidney beans, rinsed, drained shopping list
- 1/2 lb. bacon, cooked, chopped shopping list
- 2 cups smoked ham, chopped shopping list
- 1 large greenbell pepper, chopped shopping list
- 1 large yellow onion, Chopped shopping list
- 1 small green chili pepper, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce shopping list
- 2 or 3 cloves garlic, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat grill to medium heat, if using. Or use slow cooker.
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot; mix well.
- Simmer covered for several hours; stir often. In slow cooker on low for about 8 hours.
- Remove from heat when vegetables are soft.

This is a very tasty and spicy beans recipe!! I used a diced up chicken sausage instead of the ham and bacon...This recipe is almost a mirror image of the Cowbro Beans that Phoenix residents have been enjoying from Honey Bears BBQ for years!!
