Grammas German Dish

- 3 tbsp vegetable oil (or canola/peanut) shopping list
- 3 tsp minced garlic shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1/3 cup worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 pkg dry brown gravy mix shopping list
- 1 onion shopping list
- 2 lbs cubed beef (stew meat) shopping list
- 1/3 cup soy sauce shopping list
- 2 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 2 tsp liquid smoke shopping list
- 1 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1 additional cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Pound meat into 1/2" thinness and cut into bite-size pieces.
- Quarter half of the onion, and chop the other half.
- Add beef, onion and minced garlic to pan.
- Cook until meat looks "almost" burnt, onions are translucent and liquid is gone.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, 2 cups of water, soy sauce, Liquid Smoke, 2 tsp Garlic Powder, salt, pepper to skillet. (no need to drain the beef).
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- MEANWHILE : Combine gravy packet with 1 cup water. Mix thoroughly and stir into skillet when the hour of simmering is up.
- Bring to a boil stirring frequently until thickened.
- Serve over egg noodles (or rice).
