Apple Pan Dowdy Recipe
This dish really makes you feel at home. It is best served warm, but just as tasty the next day. Great for a cold day, or even a warm day.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans apple pie filling
  • cinnamon sugar
  • brown sugar
  • yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick margarine

Directions
  1. Put two cans of apple pie filling into baking dish
  2. Cut up apples into bite size pieces
  3. Season with cinnamon sugar and brown sugar to taste
  4. Pour 1/2 of the dry yellow cake over the apple pie filling
  5. Pour melted butter over the dry yellow cake
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minuntes until top is nice and brown
  7. Serve with vanilla ice cream

Oh if you make it, you can't stop eating it. Its delicious, I try to only make it on special occasions.


Do you only use half of the yellow cake mix? could you mix the melted butter with the cake mix and spread it over the apple filling and then bake it? just wondering.


Whatever amount of the cake mix you feel comfortable with, and yes. Do the cake topping the way you like the best.
