Kase Spaetzel Cheese Noodles

This was my mom's German version of macaroni & cheese. She used to use a cheese we kids called "smelly" but I can't locate that cheese. My kids love the stringy cheese when they eat this. This recipe doubles /triples easily.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter shopping list
- 3 onions, sliced shopping list
- 3 oz emmenthaler cheese, grated shopping list
- 1 tsp dry mustard shopping list
- 2 cups homemade spaetzel noodles shopping list
- 2 tbsp chives, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Heat butter in frying pan, add onions and brown lightly. Toss cheese with dry mustard.
- Add cooked noodles to cooked onions and cheese, mix well. Place mixture in an ovenproof casserole. Bake at 300 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
