Flank steak broil

- 1 pound good quality flank steak shopping list
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup red wine shopping list
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Cut both sides of the steak into diamond pattern about 1/8-inch deep.
- In a skillet, cook onions with butter, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and wine until they are tender.
- Keep warm.
- In a bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Brush half the mixture onto the beef.
- Set oven to broil.
- Broil beef with the top about 2-3 inches frm the heat until brown.
- Broil for 5 minutes.
- Turn beef and brush with remaining 1/2 of mixture.
- Broil 5 minutes more.
- Cut beef across grain at a slanted angle into thin slices.
- Top with cooked onion mixture and serve.
