Super sweet blondies with chocolate. I made these to use the leftover Valentine candy in the house. You could also use chocolate chips.

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 cups chopped mixed chocolate (dark chocolate, milk chocolate, Wild Oats truffles)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together 3/4 cup of butter, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and yolk one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and 6 tablespoons peanut butter. Blend in the sifted ingredients and stir in the chocolate.
  5. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool.
