- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar, divided shopping list
- 1 1/2 ounces Bushmill's Irish whiskey shopping list
- 5 ounces high-quality hot black coffee, made very strong and hot shopping list
- heavy cream shopping list
- freshly whipped whipping cream sweetened with sugar and pure vanilla to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Heat a stemmed glass by filling it with hot water; set aside.
- Place 1 teaspoon of the sugar into a small, shallow dish.
- Drain the heated glass, then dry it thoroughly with a clean, lint-free cloth towel or paper towel. Wet only the rim of the glass with water.
- Dip the moistened rim of the glass into the sugar to coat the rim.
- Carefully add the remaining sugar to the glass (making sure to not rinse off the sugar on the rim), followed by the whiskey.
- Add the coffee, leaving room for the cream. Stir thoroughly and let settle, then pour the cream over the back of a spoon onto the mixture so it just floats.
- Finish with a dollop of freshly-whipped whipped cream and enjoy! Let the lucky recipient of the Blessing stir in the cream to his/her taste.
- Note: do NOT stint on the quality of your coffee! Use your favorite, high-quality, freshly-ground beans to make the coffee.
- Makes 1 serving.
