I love butter chicken, and I have all kinds of recipes -- from complex, to simple and back again! I like this one because it's not too difficult but doesn't compromise on flavours. Thank you for the great post!

My boyfriend is from India. I purchsed butter checken sauce already prepared from the indian store and at another time a packaged dry sauce. He smirked at both of them and said they were "alright".
I tried one more time but this time decided to make my own from scratch,an even riskier move considering his mother is an excellent cook. I looked over so many recipes on line but they all seemed so complicated. When I saw this one I thought " Now you can do this!".
He ate every drop and even licked the plate dry with his Nan bread.
Thank you so much, it was excellenta and...EASY!

I've never heard of Butter Chicken, but from the other comments, it sounds like this recipe is the one to have for it. I have a whole organic chicken in the freezer. I'm going to try this reicpe.

Made this a few days ago. VERY VERY good. Easy to make too. I love Indian food, but I'm usually intimidated from making it at home because of the the huge lists of ingredients. This was very manageable though, and didn't take very long to make. One question though, What is the 'cm' measurement in the ingredient:
2 cm ginger root shreded

Cm = centimetres
2cm = 0.8 inches
I love Butter chicken and this recipe looks really easy to make. Will give it a go. :)
