Oooh My Goodness Dessert Recipe

Oooh My Goodness Dessert Recipe
I can't quite find words to describe the outcome of this recipe. Oooh my goodness is close! It is, basically, a white chocolate, raspberry bread pudding with butterscotch caramel sauce. Just say aaahhhh! It's worth every minute.

Ingredients
  • 4-1/2 good quality hamburger buns
  • 6 large eggs, whipped
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 quart half-and-half
  • 1/2 quart heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Raspberry part:
  • 2 ounces white chocolate, chunked
  • 1 pint raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Butterscotch Caramel part:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar

Directions
  1. Tear hamburger buns into large chunks.
  2. Place into a sheet pan.
  3. Put into a 325° oven to toast. About 12 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool.
  5. While bread is cooling, in a large bowl, whisk eggs well.
  6. Add sugar and mix well.
  7. Add the creams and mix to combine well.
  8. Rub a heavy baking dish with butter and add bread mixture to the dish.
  9. Pour egg mixture over top bread and work it with your hands.
  10. Be careful not to break up the bread too much. (Been there and done that!)
  11. Soak for 15 minutes.
  12. Use your hands, clean of course, and make sure the egg mixture is evenly distributed in the pan.
  13. Use your palm and press it down to let any bubbles come to the top.
  14. Make the raspberry topping by pressing the chunks of white chocolate into the above mixture.
  15. Do the same by putting the raspberries on top of the chocolate. Don't smoosh them though!
  16. Cover with plastic wrap and then with foil.
  17. Place into a 325° oven for 45 minutes, or until puffy and cake test comes out clean.
  18. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  19. Butterscotch Caramel Topping:
  20. Combine sugar and water in a heavy bottom saucepan.
  21. DO NOT STIR, although you can swirl them.
  22. Place over high heat and allow to simmer until the mixture turns an amber color, about 20 minutes.
  23. Once mixture reaches desired color, remove from heat.
  24. Carefully add the cream and butter to the heated mixture.
  25. The mixture will boil up rapidly so stir quickly and well.
  26. Add the vinegar and stir again.
  27. Pour over the bread pudding.
  28. Serve in your choice of dessert dishes.
  29. IT IS TERRIFIC!!!
