Ingredients

How to make it

  • Lay eggs on bottom of the pot
  • Try not to stack your eggs (it's better to do it in batches than overfill your pot)
  • Fill with water so it's an inch over the eggs
  • Put on high heat and bring to a rapid boil
  • Let boil for 12 minutes
  • Remove from heat
  • Remove the eggs immediately from the pot (I use a slotted spoon) and plunge them into cold water until you can pick them out of the water without burning your hands (a bit under a minute)

After mine comes to a boil I pull the pot off the hot burner and let them steam for 15 min. Do not take lid off until time is up. Then I pour water off & rinse them quickly under cold running water. When they have cooled to where I can handle them without being burned I roll & crack the shells. I then pour cold water over them again in pot. When ready peel!

OK now I have 8 hard boiled eggs....what do I do now?????? Just kidding you, my foodie friend. I roll them before putting them in a cold bath and water gets under the shell. OK deviled or salad...no scramble.
