Cinnamon Scones

- 3 c. flour shopping list
- 1/3 c. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 c. buttermilk shopping list
- 2 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- For egg Glaze: shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Add butter and mix with your fingertips or a fork to a coarse meal.
- Add buttermilk and mix until just combined.
- Transfer dough to a floured board and divide into 2 parts.
- Roll each to 3/4 inch thick rounds.
- Cut each round into 8 wedges and place slightly separated on a greased baking sheet.
- Mix egg, 2 1/2 tbsp. sugar, and 1 tsp. cinnamon in small bowl until thoroughly mixed.
- Using a pastry brush, brush a thin layer onto the wedges.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Serve warm.
