Oatmeal Cream Girdle Scones Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups cake flour

1tbsp baking powder

1/3 cup quick cooking oatmeal

1/4 cup butter, cut into small pieces

2 eggs, well beaten

1/2 cup cream

Directions

Stir the flour and baking powder together into a bowl; stir in the oatmeal

Rub in butter and beat in the eggs.

Make a well in the center and pour in the cream

Stir to create a soft, elastic dough

On a floured surface,roll the dough out to a 3/4-inch thickness

divide the dough in half.

divide each half into four and form into rough bisquit shapes

place the scones in a moderatley hot, lightly oiled heavy frying pan

cook for 10 -12 minuts, turning once as they brown.

Serve warm with butter and jam
