How to make it

  • Stir the flour and baking powder together into a bowl; stir in the oatmeal
  • Rub in butter and beat in the eggs.
  • Make a well in the center and pour in the cream
  • Stir to create a soft, elastic dough
  • On a floured surface,roll the dough out to a 3/4-inch thickness
  • divide the dough in half.
  • divide each half into four and form into rough bisquit shapes
  • place the scones in a moderatley hot, lightly oiled heavy frying pan
  • cook for 10 -12 minuts, turning once as they brown.
  • Serve warm with butter and jam
