I got this wonderful recipe from a Victorian cookbook I found in a antique store. These scones are so good and perfect with butter and Jam. You can eat them any time of the day.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 1tbsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup quick cooking oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup cream

Directions
  1. Stir the flour and baking powder together into a bowl; stir in the oatmeal
  2. Rub in butter and beat in the eggs.
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the cream
  4. Stir to create a soft, elastic dough
  5. On a floured surface,roll the dough out to a 3/4-inch thickness
  6. divide the dough in half.
  7. divide each half into four and form into rough bisquit shapes
  8. place the scones in a moderatley hot, lightly oiled heavy frying pan
  9. cook for 10 -12 minuts, turning once as they brown.
  10. Serve warm with butter and jam
