I must have done something wrong. I tried several ways to store after they were fried and cooled. Most stores (Krispy Kreme) stay soft and yet firm for a while, but all of mine the next day are spongy and squishy. I tried plastic wrap, bags, bento box, and boxes. Any advice?

These turned out like biscuits. There is something wrong with them, and also, you never mentioned when to put in the sugar (i put it in anyways).
