Merry Cherry Dense Chocolate Black Forest Easy Cake

- EASY BLACK FOREST cake shopping list
- 1 package Duncan Hines fudge cake mix shopping list
- 1 can Comstock (or other) cherry pie filling shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- chocolate icing shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 5 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/3 cup milk shopping list
- 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- NOTE: For a STAR IN THE SHOW presentation, bake in bundt pan, place on pedestal, spoon on and DRIZZLE icing, letting it cascade down sides, spoon on more cherry pie filling, making a ring on top, Spoon big dollops of whipped cream in ring on top of cherry filling, and place a stemmed maraschino cherry in the center of each dollop right before serving. If using whipped cream, refrigerate. shopping list
How to make it
- Pour cake mix into large bowl, and whisk to get out the lumps
- In medium bowl whisk the 3 eggs with wire whisk until blended well
- Add cherry pie filling to the eggs and blend
- Add eggs and pie filling to the dry cake mix, and only STIR until well blended
- Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 in pan (can bake in bundt)
- Bake until sides shrink from pan (about 25 minutes)
- Cool
- ICING
- On stovetop, bring to boil, sugar, butter, milk and boil 1 MINUTE ONLY
- Remove and add chocolate chips
- Spread on cooled cake
- THIS IS A VERY GOOD, DENSE CHOCOLATE, EASY EASY CAKE THAT CAN BECOME THE STAR OF THE SHOW IN PRESENTATION
