Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp fennel or anise seed
  • 6 green cardamom pods
  • 12 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4" ginger root, sliced thin
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper corns
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 7 Cups water
  • 2 Tbsp Darjeeling tea or 2 Tbs Rooibos for caffeine free version
  • 6 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Cup milk

Directions
  1. Boil first 8 ingredients for 5 minutes.
  2. Add tea. Boil for 5 minutes, steep for 10. Strain.
  3. Add honey and bring to a boil until melted.
  4. Add milk, heat through and serve.

This looks really good! Do you put the spices in some sort of a bag or just strain them out when you are finished?


Good question! I just strain it after step 2.


This was an awesome warm up this a.m. and I don't like milk. But I loved this. The bay was an unusual addition to me, but it adds a speical flavor. Thanks for the post.
