Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cream eggs and sugar well together
  • Mix the buttermilk and juice in.
  • Melt the butter and mix in with the others.
  • Sift the dry ingredients.
  • Mix the dry ingredients with your hands in till a stiff dough.
  • Grease any baking dish.
  • Make medium size balls with the dough. (150 - 180).
  • Arrange them very close into the baking dish(es).
  • Bake at 180 degrees C (360 degrees F) for 60 minutes.
  • Cut or break the balls into dip size pieces.
  • Arrange them loosely on a baking tray.
  • Let them dry out in a oven of 70 degrees C(160 degrees F). overnight.
  • Turn them arounnd after few hours.
  • Very tasty. Can be put in an airtight holder for quite some time.

Put tightly in a greased baking tin   Close
Or just press dough in   Close
Break alongside balls   Close
Or cut into pieces   Close
Dry out in oven   Close

    These are the rusks I love!! Great photos too! ^_^ Too cute, your daughters are gonna learn to be great cooks if they help you prepare all the dishes for the photo shoots ;) haha...

    I also like the rustic rolled ones, they are more fun to chew on once they are dipped! hehe...

    These sound very good. Have eaten Holland Rusks and I like them. I am wondering if these are similar. Know they are good with a cuppa coffee! :) Thanks for sharing.

    That is way cool! Sort of a cross between a hot bun and biscotti. This is on the to do list for sure. Looks like the taste tester is satisfied. She is adorable! They grow up too fast don't they.
