Ingredients

How to make it

  • Saute onion and bacon.
  • Blend in flour, sugar, salt, pepper and other seasonings.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in tomatoes and bring to a boil for one minute.
  • Let cool until lukewarm.
  • Add milk and (mushrooms if desired.)
  • Heat again till hot enough to eat.
  • Tomato and milk quanity can be waived depending on how milky or tomatoey you like it.

    Went out to dinner last nite and my husband ordered a BLT Soup for his appetizer. He raved about it, Since the tomatoes are plentiful from the garden , I was happy to find your post. Thanks for sharing! It was served with pieces of lettuce and a dollop of sour cream on top. Anxious to give your recipe a try!.

    Had tomato bacon soup today at Macy's on State Street in Chicago, and boy was it delicious! Now I HAVE to make my own! I will def. try this recipe-don't know about the 'shrooms though?

    Def. will need a cheese + bread side :)

    You know I can't resist anything with bacon in it - this sounds very tasty, and the grill cheese addition that youtoo mentioned is perfect!
