Apricot Glazed Spareribs Recipe
Absolutely scrumtious. Everytime I serve this delightful dish I get rave reviews. Such a great blend of flavors. It takes a little effort but well worth it.

Ingredients
  • 6 pounds pork spareribs cut into 2 rib portions
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • Water
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1/4 cup chopped white onion
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Early in day in large saucepot combine ribs and garlic and cover with water.
  2. Bring to boiling over high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 1 hour then remove ribs to platter then cover and refrigerate.
  4. Make glaze by combining preserves, onion, ketchup, brown sugar, oil, soy sauce, ginger and salt in small saucepan.
  5. Mix well then heat to boiling and boil 1 minute.
  6. Cover and refrigerate glaze.
  7. 1 hour before serving heat grill.
  8. Place cooked ribs on grill over medium heat and cook 15 minutes.
  9. Turn ribs often.
  10. Brush occasionally with glaze.
