  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2-1/2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Directions
  1. Stir together 1 cup flour, baking powder and salt then set aside.
  2. In mixer bowl beat together butter and sugar until fluffy with an electric mixer on medium speed.
  3. Add egg then beat until smooth.
  4. Combine milk and vanilla.
  5. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to beaten mixture beating at low speed after each addition.
  6. Pour batter into greased and floured oval baking dish.
  7. Spoon berries evenly over batter.
  8. Combine 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour and cinnamon.
  9. Cut in 3 tablespoons butter until crumbly then sprinkle over berries.
  10. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
