Ingredients

How to make it

  • Brown floured meat in oil.
  • Do not crowd the meat in the saucepan when browning.
  • Add boiling water or mixture of boiling water and stock, spices and onions and simmer until tender.
  • Add carrots and potatoes and cook until vegetables are tender.
  • I like to sprinkle fresh parsley over top when serving.

This was fantastic! It's like a cabbage soup meets beef stew. I love the flavors and it's a great way to change up a regular beef stew once in awhile. The whole family loved it and had seconds. I followed all the ingredients but differed on the directions which I think helped to boost the flavor.

When do you add the cabbage, tomatoes and Guinness? How long do you simmer it for?

Well, you've outdone yourself with this recipe! I can't wait to try this, and I will certainly use the Guiness both in the stew AND on the side. Thanks for the great post,

I don't normally like stews and soups, but this sounds great and my hubby loves stews. I will definitely be trying this one. Thanks. Thanks for joining our group too.
