How to make it

  • Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add vanilla. Add milk along with dry ingredients.
  • Bake 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool.
  • To make filling: beat egg whites until stiff. Add vanilla, flour and milk. Beat well and add shortening and sugar.
  • Place cream filling between two cookies.
  • Enjoy!!!

    Here's a bit of trivia for you. If you look for these is Central Pennsylvania, ask for a GOB instead. Just one of our quirky localisms.

    I use black cocoa that I purchase at a local amish store. This makes the chocolate ones even better. I haven't even touched my regular cocoa since I discovered the black cocoa.
