How to make it

  • In mixing bowl, stir together first 6 ingredients. Add shortening, egg and vanilla; beat well. Stir in oats and nuts. Form into small balls. Dip tops in additional granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies =D
  • The cookies are crinkled looking on top with granulated sugar.

These do sound yummy with the addition of the "sugar roll" before baking - I will have to give these a try...I know if Michellem gave them a 5, they're perfect in every way!

I just made these. I love them. Rolling them in the sugar makes them extra sweet. I like the small measurements..the recipe did not make tons..so therefore I did not eat tons..only three!! I will have to spin extra fast in the morning! Thanks again Shandy..I gave it a perfect 5! Michelle
