Ingredients
  • Basmati Rice 2 cups
  • Chicken with bones 2 cups
  • Chilli pwd 1 tsp
  • Corriander pwd 2tsp
  • Masala pwd 1/2 tsp
  • Tumeric pwd 1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seed pwd 2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Big Onion 1
  • Tomato , 1 small
  • Cinnamon 1 stick
  • Chilli Padi 3
  • cloves 2
  • cardamom 1
  • Mint Leaves
  • Bay leaves
  • Lime juice few drops
  • Soup cube 1/2
  • cahew nut fried in butter/Ghee 2 tsp
  • lo fat milk and water 4 cups .

Directions
  1. Wash and soak rice for 15 mins .
  2. Mix all the pwds with chicken and set aside .
  3. Fry onion , cinnamon , tomatoe , mint and bay leaves for few mins .
  4. Add the chilli padi , cloves , cardamom paste .
  5. Add the chicken and cover the presuure cooker . let it stand for few mins .
  6. Open the lid and add the rice and everythingelse . Cover and put the weight .
  7. After first whistle , simmer it for few mins .
  8. Remove and let ot cool .
  9. Mix well and serve with mutton kheema and curry .

Hi Cholena, this recipe luks great too. can you pls tell me wat Masala powder is? and in step 4,do we cook it in the pressure cooker or just close the lid only for the aroma and flavours to blend in the chicken? let me know pls.

I have never used a pressure cooker before and my husband just got me one last week....this dish sounds so good, I feel like making it right now...for breakfast!


Ive never used a cooker to make biryani.. will have to try it out.. Biryani is one of my favourite dishes
