Tempura Vegetables

- 3/4 cup cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 cup self rising flour shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1 large egg, beaten shopping list
- 2 med. zucchini shopping list
- 1 med. onion shopping list
- 2 yellow squash shopping list
- veg. oil shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
How to make it
- Mix 1st 3 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add water and egg and mix until smooth.
- Cut veggies into 1/4 inch pieces.
- Pour oil into heavy pan and heat to 375 or put the end of a wooden spoon in the oil and if the oil bubbles up around it, the oil is ready.
- Dip veggies into batter.
- Fry in batches about 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle with salt.
