Cashew Caramel Crunch Squares Recipe
This recipe is compliments of Womans day and Kelloggs.... If you like nutty crunchy this recipe is for you..... good around the Holidays

Ingredients
  • 1 (14 ounce) bag of caramels
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 6 cups cocoa krispies cereal
  • 1 cup cashew nuts
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Directions
  1. Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan
  2. Put the caramels, butter and water into a large saucepan.
  3. Place over medium low heat and cook 18 minutes, stirring occasionally until caramels melt and mixture is smooth.
  4. Stir in cereal and nuts.
  5. Let cool 1 minute, then stir in white chocolate chips.
  6. Press into prepared pan and let cool.
  7. Invert onto cutting board.
  8. Cut in 2 inch squares.
  9. Makes 24

I'd love this but I hate unwrapping all those caramels....used to be I could con the weeone into doing it, but she has caught on to my tricks now and won't help. Hmmm, hubby likes to snap green beans, maybe he will do the unwrapping. Bribery at it's finest, delicious dessert as the reward.


Yes, notcho, that's exactly how I bribe my husband into unwrapping caramels, rolos, etc - works every time! These sound like a delicious way to USE those unwrapped caramels...thanks, Zen!
