I never cared for bean salad until I made this one! Wonderful flavor, easy to make and sooo healthy.
Healthier still if you substiutute a scant 1/2 C Splenda for the sugar in the marinade.

This is exactly the same dressing that I put on my bean salad-I even substitute the Splenda for the sugar! This salad is delicious and it's so colourful too. I haven't used the bacon bits but they sound like a great addition. I use red pepper instead of green because I like the bright colour and also I find them sweeter. I keep this on hand in the fridge and it keeps for at least a week.
