Ingredients

1/2 lb to 1 1/2 lbs ground beef or turkey

1 onion, chopped

1 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

3/4 cup rice (wild rice is great)

1 can tomato soup or ketchup mixed with water

1 can mushroom soup or homemade equivalent

1 can of stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce

3 cups cabbage, shredded or sliced very thin

Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Brown the meat and add onion, salt, pepper and rice.

Add soups and water and mix well.

Put cabbage in the bottom of casserole dish and pour meat and soup mixture over cabbage.

Do not stir - just let it bake!

Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours.

I made this and loved it! Even my little girls loved it! I did a few different things. I layered the cabbage, then a layer of about 2 cups rice, about 1-2 cups cooked leftover turkey, and then the soup mixture. It was sooooo good! I never would have thought to mix the soups together! I wondered how it would taste at first but loved it.
