How to make it

  • place the water and sugar in a sauce pan and bring to boil over medium heat. when simple syrup reaches a boil remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • make a small slit with a knife in the bottom of each marshmallow and insert a chocolate kiss. (note: when I first made these I made a batch of chocolate ganache and used a rather large marinade injector to push the ganache into the marshmallows. it was difficult but can be done if you prefer.)
  • Decorating ideas:
  • 1. dip (or use a brush and paint) the marshmallows in the simple syrup and roll in colored candy sprinkles to fit the holiday season
  • 2. separate simple syrup into bowls and mix a few drops of food coloring into each. use small paint brushes to decorate the marshmallows with festive holiday designs.
  • when I made these, I used a basting brush to paint the sides of the marshmallows with the syrup and rolled them in candy sprinkles then used a small brush to paint designs on the flat tops (I made them for a halloween party but they would make great Christmas candies or craft ideas for kids at school as well!)
