Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut off and discard the small wing tip from each wing.
  • Then cut the remainder of the wing into 2 pieces.
  • Mix salt, sugar, and water in a large bowl and submerge wings for 20 minutes.
  • Remove wings from water.
  • Rinse and dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  • Combine paprika, cayenne, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder and put in a large bowl.
  • Add wings and turn them, using a large spoon.
  • Thoroughly coat them with the spices.
  • Melt butter and margarine in a small saucepan.
  • Add hot sauce and bring to a simmer.
  • Turn off heat and set aside.
  • Heat oil to 375 degrees.
  • Fry all the pieces that resemble small drumsticks together for about 11 minutes.
  • They should be golden brown.
  • Flatter looking pieces should take about 10 minutes to fry.
  • Remove wings and drain on paper towels.

  • Turn the wings in the sauce.
  • Remove wings to a serving platter.

best wings ever!! i skipped some steps and just added all the ingredients together. used a little bit more of some of the ingredients. oven for 20 minutes. then tossed them in the butter hot sauce mix. they were so delicious!! my husband said that they were the best wings he's ever eaten including every restaurant and he's eaten s a lot of wings at a ton of different places. they were crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside.

This recipe sounds delicious! Being that I don't live in the USA, too, I appreciate the fact that you didn't include ready-made sauces in your ingredient list. :) yay!

Way too many ingredients to be called Buffalo Wings.
Frank's hot sauce, butter oil for deep frying or a 450 deg oven for 45 minutes, poor sauce over the hot wings put back in the oven for 10-15 minutes.

Instead of blue cheese dressing try with Tzatziki sauce.Tzatziki Sauce:
    16 ounces plain yogurt
1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely chopped
    Pinch kosher salt
    4 cloves garlic, finely minced
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
5 to 6 mint leaves, finely minced

Place the yogurt in a tea towel, gather up the edges, suspend over a bowl, and drain for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Place the chopped cucumber in a tea towel and squeeze to remove the liquid; discard liquid. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the drained yogurt, cucumber, salt, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and mint. Serve as a sauce for gyros. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week.

    Yield: 1 1/2 cups

Thanks for the feedback dandelion. I don't recall them being particularly drippy at the time. All I remember is that the recipe surpassed my expectations. You never know when you are trying something for the first time.

this sounds wonderful, but I don't like the drippy wings. I would put them back into a 350*F oven for about 5-8 minutes to dry them out a bit.
