Thin New Hampshire Maple Syrup Pancakes

- 1 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoon real maple syrup shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups milk shopping list
- 3 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl combine the maple syrup, egg, and milk.
- Add the liquid mixture gradually to the dry ingredients.
- Stir until moistened.
- Add the margarine or butter.
- The batter should be fairly thin.
- Add more milk if necessary.
- Pour into a greased electric skillet or pan and cook until bubbles come to the surface and the edges are done.
- Turn and brown the other side.
- Makes 8 to 10 small pancakes

Pancakes are one of my weakness - along with cookies and scones - this is a great version with the syrup already in them. I'll be rolling bacon or sausage in them for contrasting taste. = )

Good cakes. Made 6 cakes in an omelet pan. Suggest a pinch or so of salt to boost the flavor.
