Ingredients

1 1/2 lb of ground beef (I use x-lean ground)

1 1/2 cup coarsely chopped onions

3-4 bouillon cubes

6 cups water

2 cups sliced carrots

1 1/2 cup coarsely chopped celery

1 - 1 1/2 cups barley

1 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

1/4 cup ketchup

28 oz can of tomatoes or tomato sauce or pureed tomatoes

1-2 bay leaves

Directions

Brown meat and onions in pan.

Add mixture and all ingredients in a large pot and simmer for 2 or more hours.
