Hardees Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits Recipe
When my 2nd daughter was 16 she worked for Hardees. This is where she developed this recipe. It has been cut down to make a smaller batch then Hardees of course!! They are great.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup shortening - that's Crisco, or oil
  • 2 cups milk or buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt, if using self rising flour this may be omitted or halved
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions
  1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and sugar.
  2. Blend in shortening with a fork until mixture is fine.
  3. Add milk and stir until just mixed.
  4. Add raisins and mix.
  5. Add cinnamon and mix until swirled through batter.
  6. Do not mix batter any more than you have to.
  7. Scrape batter onto well floured surface.
  8. Flour top and pat down with hands until 1/2 inch thick.
  9. Cut with 2-inch cutter and place on greased baking pan.
  10. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10-15 minutes Until golden brown.
  11. Frost with powdered sugar icing.
  12. Makes about 24 biscuits.

I always loved these biscuits. They no longer have Hardees in Utah so thank you VERY much!
