Ingredients

6-8 apples

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1/3 cup Red Hots (red cinnamon candies)

Red food coloring

Directions

Cut cored, pared apples in 1/2-inch rings, or wedges

In saucepan place prepared apples

Add sugar, water, Red Hots, and a few drops red food coloring

Cook until tender

These are good served hot or cold

If serving cold, place in bowl, and refrigerate until ready to serve

I have been looking for this recipe.. my mom made these but she added jusy alittle bit of strawberry jello somewhere in the mix... this is the closest thing Ive seen to it... Thanks so much..

This is exactly like my mom's recipe except she uses more red hots and doesn't put in food coloring. We serve ours with whipped cream and it is my favorite dessert ever!!
