How to make it

  • Preheat grill.
  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan combine Jack Daniels, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, & ginger.
  • Bring to boiling.
  • Lower heat to medium setting, continually stirring mixture until liquid is thickened and caramelized.
  • Remove from heat. Salt and pepper the salmon fillets.
  • Create a foil platter for your Salmon to grill upon by folding all 4 edges of the foil such that it creates a 1/2" lip around the platter.
  • Place fillets skin side down on foil and grill on a low heat setting. Brush Jack sauce on fillets.
  • Cook for about 7 minutes.
  • Flip the Salmon fillets; the skin should stick to the foil platter.
  • Continue to baste fillets with the caramelized Jack sauce about every 3 minutes until fillets are cooked thoroughly.
  • (About 15 minutes or until Salmon has a light pink color in the middle.)
  • Serve immediately

Amazing, have made it 6-7 times, always quadruple recipe an do enough for six people so that I can have for breakfast the next day cold and for days to come. Have made it for company and for our 25th anniversary in El Sol Cabin, Wimberley TX. Melissa has a couple of Super nice cabins with hot tubs for rent. Loved the view as much as this Absolutely Fab recipe. Thanks for a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep me on your mail list Pat!

This was a really nice sauce for the salmon. It came out a tad sweet and I couldn't taste the Jack Daniels. I made the sauce last night and it sat in the refrigerator overnight. I grilled my salmon over charcoal and it took about 15 minutes. I had cut the sauce in half and I did use it all up on my filet. I didn't flip the salmon as instructed and the skin came off very easily when I served it up. Delicious.
I added a couple of pictures and put this in IMI on 7/20/14.

I've added one step to your recipe Pat...increase the Jack Daniels to one cup, and use 1/2 cup for marinating yourself during the grilling process..ha ha....I've tried this same thing with chicken, steak and grilled veggies...I mean the marinating thing...I used a little more though...and I had it with ice and a splash of soda...See ya and thanks for the recipe...It's great..i've tried it..
