Ingredients

1/4 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 edd

1/2 cup hot coffee

1 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking pwder

1/4 teaspoon soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 cup currants

1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Cream together butter, sugar and egg.

Stir in coffee and dry ingredientd, which have been sifted together.

Add currants and walnuts.

Spread in greased 13 x 9 inch oblong pan.

Bake 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes.

Frost with plain icing while warm.

Cut into bars.

Makes 2 dozen 1 1/2 x 3 inch bars.

Plain icing:

1 cup sifted confectioners sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and enough cream to make it spread easy.
