Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cream together butter, sugar and egg.
  • Stir in coffee and dry ingredientd, which have been sifted together.
  • Add currants and walnuts.
  • Spread in greased 13 x 9 inch oblong pan.
  • Bake 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Frost with plain icing while warm.
  • Cut into bars.
  • Makes 2 dozen 1 1/2 x 3 inch bars.
  • Plain icing:
  • 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and enough cream to make it spread easy.

    These look absolutley lovley and easy to make. I think I will try them when I have brunch for my book club. They are unique and will be appreciated. My kids would probably wonder why the chocolate chips were missing. Thanks!
