Bake And Rise Cherry Streusel

- BAKE & RISE BATTER: shopping list
- cooking spray shopping list
- 1-1/2c all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 pk Rapid Rise yeast shopping list
- 1/3c sugar shopping list
- 1/2t salt shopping list
- 6T butter, melted shopping list
- 1/2c very warm milk (120* to 130* F) shopping list
- 1 egg, room temperature shopping list
- 1/4t almond extract (optional) shopping list
- CHERRY FILLING: shopping list
- 48oz pitted cherry pie filling, in heavy syrup, drained shopping list
- STREUSEL TOPPING: shopping list
- 1/3c all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/3c sugar shopping list
- 2T butter, softened shopping list
How to make it
- Mix dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add butter to milk and adjust temperature to 120* to 130* F. Add milk/butter mixture to dry ingredients slowly while whisking. Add egg and almond extract while continuing to whisk to a smooth consistency.
- Pour batter into a pre-sprayed 8 X 8-inch baking dish.
- Top batter with drained cherry pie filling. Mix streusel topping in small bowl with a fork until uniform consistency; sprinkle over cherry filling. A small capacity food processor works well also.
- Bake by placing in a COLD oven; set temperature to 350º F. Bake for 40 minutes or until done.
