Angel Hair With Ham and Baby Peas

- 12 ounces angel hair pasta uncooked shopping list
- 10 ounce box frozen baby peas defrosted shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 small red onion peeled and sliced very thin shopping list
- 2 cups chopped extra lean ham shopping list
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While pasta is cooking combine 1/2 cup peas, milk, flour, salt and pepper in a blender.
- Blend until very smooth then add remaining peas without blending and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and ham then cook tossing until onion is tender about 5 minutes.
- Add milk mixture then reduce heat to low and simmer 3 minutes stirring constantly.
- When pasta is done drain well reserving 1/2 cup of pasta cooking liquid.
- Add ham sauce and reserved cooking liquid.
- Stir over low heat until pasta is coated with sauce.
- Transfer to a serving platter or plates.
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper and parmesan then serve immediately.
