Macaroni and cheese with a twist

- 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs shopping list
- 2 tblspns melted butter shopping list
- 8 ounces macaroni shopping list
- 2 tblspns butter shopping list
- 1 small onion, minced shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1/4 tspn dry mustard shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups milk shopping list
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease 2 quart caserole dish.
- Place the breadcrumbs into a bowl and mix well with the melted butter; set aside.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
- Add macaroni to boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes until al-dente.
- Drain, the place into prepared caserole dish.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt remaining 2 tblspns butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in the minced onion and cook until translucent (about 4-5 minutes)
- Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and dry mustard until incorporated, then pour in the milk and bring to a simmer.
- Simmer, stirring constantly until the milk has thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Take the milk off the heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
- Pour cheese sauce over the macaroni, then sprinkle evenly with the bread crumbs.
- Bake until golden and bubbly, about 20 minutes.

A perfect meal on a cold winter evening.
Except for the bread crumbs this is the way I make Macaroni And Cheese all the time. I like the bread crumb idea and will try this out the next time.trigger in loved it
