tuna salad done right

- classic (TS) tuna salad shopping list
- 2 (6 oz.) cans solid white meat tuna in water shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 1/4 cup minced celery shopping list
- 2 Tbs. red onion-minced shopping list
- 2 Tbs. minced parsley shopping list
- 2Tbs. fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 2 tbs. minced dill or sweet pickles shopping list
- 1/2 cloves minced garlic shopping list
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. Dijon mustard shopping list
How to make it
- drain tuna ina collander and shred with fingers until no clumps remain
- pour tuna into a bowl and mix in lemon juice,salt,pepper,celery,onion,pickles,garlic and parsley until evenly blended
- fold in mustard and mayonnaise until tuna is evenly moisened
- makes about 2 cups/enough for 4 sandwiches-can be refrigerated for 3 days.
- TS with balsamic vinegar and grapes-------
- follow classic recipe omitting lemon,pickles,garlic and parsley
- add 2 Tbs. baslamic vinegar,1 cup of halved red seedless grapes,1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds and 2 tsp.minced thyme leafs
- curried TS with apple and currants----
- omit garlic,pickles and parsley
- add 1 medium firm juicy apple ,1/4" diced,(1 cup),1/4 cup currants and 2 Tbs minced fresh basil,mix 1 Tbs. curry powder with mayonnaise and fold in
- TS with lime and horseradish-----
- omit lemon,pickles and garlic. add 2 Tbs. lime juice,1/2 tsp. lime zest and 3 Tbs. horseradish
- TS with cauflower,jalapino and celantro
- omit pickles,garlic and parsley. add 1 cup coliflower florets cut in 1/2" pieces,2 Tbs.minced jalapino,1/4 cup minced scallions and 2 Tbs minced fresh cilantro
