How to make it

  • Melt butter in Dutch oven.
  • Add sliced onions.
  • Sweat onions for 3 minutes.
  • Add Brats.
  • Add beer, enough to cover Brats.
  • Bring to boil, turn down to simmer until Brats are cooked.
  • Remove Brats from beer mixture.
  • Place an gill until grilled golden brown.
  • Return Brats to beer mixture until ready to serve.
  • Serve with sauerkraut or onions and peppers on Brat buns.
